Week of 10.22-10.26.2007

This week is Red Ribbon Week!*

Monday:  Wear Red Day; Mix-it-up at Lunch (students are encouraged to sit in a new place with new people to talk about new things for one day)

Tuesday:  Team Up Against Drugs Day — wear your favorite team’s jersey

Wednesday:  Blue Out!  Homecoming game vs. Pershing – everyone wear blue

Thursday:  Dream it, Believe it, Achieve it! — dress as your chosen career

Friday:  Drugs and I Don’t Mix — dress in mix and match clothes 

*All clothing must be in dress code — tucked in and covered up

English

On Monday we begin our Holocaust Unit.  This week will be spent studying the historical aspect, then we will read Maus I by Art Speigelman.   We have copies of this book for use in class; no need to purchase this.

Independent Reading Project due date has been moved to November 7/8.  Of course, all projects will be accepted before this date.  You’re welcome.

History

In History, students will continue to analyze the causes of the American Revolution as well analyze elements of propaganda.Items to turn in include:

  1. History Fair! Due Monday 10/22, please turn in to Mrs. Sher on Monday morning (Mr. Wagner will be busy becoming a dad.)
  2. Loyalist vs. Patriots Propaganda Poster will be assigned Wed./Thurs., due Friday.

Science

Math

Algebra students will be working on solving Equations with Distributive Property and Equations with Fractions.Math students will be learning how to use the Pythagorean Theorem for solving Real Life Problems.
